Inside the Studio

Each moment in time is entirely new and also completely reliant on every other moment that occurs before and afterward.

Tectonics is a series of large-scale printed collages built over a long period of time. In these works, each color, each tone, each cut, each line, and each area is built by hand and in relation to every other color, tone, cut, line, and area.

The images that follow document the making of Tectonics as well as some of the landscapes and places I spent time in around the time I made this work. Some of these places include: the sea, burning hills, alpine mountains, waterfalls, rocky lake coasts, forests, icy terrains, ochre sediments, glassy inland lakes, my beautiful grandmother’s gaze, and the nighttime city from above.
